Overview:

The School of Criminology and Criminal Justice at Griffith
University is Australia’s leading criminology school and ranks among the
top Criminology Schools in the world. With over 30 faculty in the
School, as well as affiliated researchers in criminology related
research centres and over 60 PhD students, Griffith University’s School
of Criminology and Criminal Justice represents the largest community of
academic criminologists in Australia.  High quality research that is
theoretically informed and policy relevant is a core theme in the
School, as is innovative and engaged teaching across the undergraduate,
postgraduate and research higher degree programs.

These are continuing, full time positions based either at the Gold Coast or Mt Gravatt campuses.

The role:

There are multiple positions available at either Lecturer
Level B, Senior Lecturer Level C, or Associate Professor Level D
depending on qualifications and expertise.  Depending on the level of
appointment, successful applicants will convene and teach undergraduate
and/or postgraduate courses, convene programs, and supervise research
students. Appointments at Levels C and D will also provide leadership in
teaching and research and assist in mentoring early career researchers
and research students. School staff are expected to develop and maintain
active research programs, and to conduct and publish high quality
research, including sourcing of external research funding and production
of high impact scholarly outputs, together with significant involvement
in professional activity. School staff also performs service roles
within the School, broader university, community and profession.

The person:

The successful applicants must have a doctoral degree in
the relevant discipline, be committed to teaching excellence and have
research expertise in relevant aspects of the field.

The applicants will have an established research track record,
excellent teaching and course administration skills, and the capacity
both to develop a strong and productive research program and to attract
postgraduate research students.

The School has a particular interest in applicants with expertise in
life-course/developmental criminology; crime science; policing; or
violence, race, gender and justice; however, all applications are
welcome.

Salary range:

Associate Professor, Level D: $117,081 – $128,988 per
annum. Salary package including 17% employer superannuation
contribution:  $136,985 – $150,916 per annum.

Senior Lecturer, Level C: $97,237 – $112,123 per annum. Salary
package including 17% employer superannuation contribution:  $113,768 –
$131,184 per annum.

*Lecturer, Level B: $79,377- $94,263 per annum.  Salary package
including 17% employer superannuation contribution:  $92,872 – $110,288
per annum.
