The Griffith Postdoctoral and Research Fellowship Scheme has been
established as an initiative to assist the University in achieving its
objective of strengthening its research profile and capacity. Early
career researchers are invited to apply for Postdoctoral Fellowships and
experienced researchers may apply for Research Fellowships under the
Scheme. The University will award up to 8 Fellowships for the 2010 Round
of the Scheme. Information for applicants can be found in the
Guidelines. Guidelines, application form & referee report available on the Griffith grants site.
If you are thinking of applying for one of these positions, take a look at the sites for the schools & departments (Law School; School of Criminology & Criminal Justice), and the various research centres (e.g. the Centre I work for, the ARC Centre of Excellence in Policing & Security (CEPS); the Key Centre for Ethics, Law, Justice & Governance; Griffith Asia Institute; Centre for Governance & Public Policy). Griffith is a very multi- and inter-disciplinary university, and encourages freedom & individuality in research. The uni is expanding, and its reputation is growing significantly. It is highly ranked in ERA rankings, and in particular the School of Criminology, and CEPS, and it is expected that in the next rankings round, CCJ will score even higher. I can personally attest that CEPS is a great place to work, with a very collegial, generous, and encouraging atmosphere. The positions are well paid, with generous funding for books, conferences, travel, etc. There is also notable support & assistance with grant applications (internal and external) for further funding.
There is a lot of competition for the fellowship positions, so if you are interested in applying & would like some more information or have any questions in general about the Uni & any of the schools or research centres, please email me on melanie.obrien@griffith.edu.au For information about the fellowship application process itself, please contact Ronda Jones on ronda.jones@griffith.edu.auÂ
